I’ve gotten really into Paul Thek’s “Teaching Notes,” which he wrote while teaching at Cooper Union. I’m pretty into Paul Thek in general, but it’s hard to find good reproductions of his work to show here. I love “Teaching Notes,” and I am trying to figure out how to use them in the classroom as a tool of self-discovery and community building. Some of them are too personal and were clearly written in the 1970s, during the Wild West era of art education, but most of them are pretty solid.
Check them out, they are neat! His statement at the end is my favorite part.
