Busy busy busy, trying to take pictures, being a TA, going to meetings and events for the student committee I’m part of, doing the occasional private tutoring gig, and making excellent use of the Los Angeles public transportation system. Last night I actually dreamed about the slide lecture I’m working on. Photo history and making slides are definitely my kind of geeky fun, but I wish I could turn my brain off for a few minutes. Here is a slide from August Sander’s Landschaften, pre-cropping, of course, although I do think it would be hilarious to leave my fingers and the edges of the pages in every frame.

Guess what happens when you watch an episode of ‘The Vampire Diaries’ and an episode of ‘Being Human’ before bed?

That’s right, guys, I had a dream about vampires (one of whom, oddly enough, was Vanessa Williams). It was actually less disturbing than all the anxiety dreams I’ve been having about my future.

Dreams I had last night:

  • That Benjamin Linus and Desmond Hume had a fight to the death in what appeared to be my grandparents’ basement. There was a rusty guillotine-style paper cutter involved, and at one point Ben just kind of…popped Desmond’s skin open like he was a piece of fruit.
  • That each of my teeth had its own set of tiny, very pointy teeth growing on the bottom. The worst part was that they were really, really hard to brush.

I’m afraid to read before bed these days.

I dream about whatever I’m thinking of right before I fall asleep (last night I dreamed about Lartigue after posting about him), and all three of the books I’m reading right now are apocalypse scenarios.
